EquesTraining Programs
Requirements & Expectations:
EquesTraining offers a no-obligation evaluation one hour session prior to booking any riding
program package. The cost for this is $60.00. During this time, you have the opportunity to take
a facility tour, meet our horses, ride, ask questions and consult with Star about a program
tailored to meet your goals. We can customize lessons for special needs of many kinds.
If you decide our method and style match your desires, please prepare for the necessary
training involved in becoming a knowledgeable, capable horseman or woman. We strongly
suggest a minimum 3 month commitment of at least one lesson per week to develop the
essential basics or to improve and advance your present riding skills.
Packages are confirmed by a signed contract. All lesson packages are payable by the month, in
advance. We accept checks and cash, but not credit cards.
Program Descriptions:
The CentaurSeat program for adults generally begins with 6-8 weeks of longeline training to
establish the correct seat, develop confidence, and help create the desirable suppleness and
balance for riding. On-horse work is supplemented by specific stretches and strengthening
exercises. Longeline/Vaulting lessons may also be purchased in a stand alone program.
With instructor approval, students may begin independent riding and learning numerous
related equestrian skills that include horse care and handling. Many of our students opt for
English riding disciplines, but Western is also a possibility. Students may choose to focus on
recreational and trail riding or to train for the dressage and jumping fields.
The Pony Play program for young children is designed to educate the whole child through
age appropriate activities and responsibilities. Benefits may include marked improvement in
physical, mental, emotional and social health.
The Horse Play program for older children sets a standard for horsemanship skills in different
styles of riding, including vaulting, along with horse care and handling. Students benefit from
improved understanding of self and others, adaptability, self-reliance and responsibility.
The Vaulting program is open to children 8 years through teens, or with instructor approval.
Emphasis is on strength and body conditioning in tandem with horsemanship skills and riding
essentials. Team building opportunities in vaulting with horses often improve social bonding and
emotional skills among children.
